Help make Park Slope cleaner!

Let’s face it: Our health and safety are contingent upon a clean community, so why not help make it clean? Starting at 10 a.m. tomorrow, October 13, the Park Slope Civic Council will engineer a neighborhood clean-up–sponsored by New York Methodist Hospital and local neighborhood businesses–on Fifth Avenue between Third and Fourth Streets in front of the Old Stone House/J.J. Byrne Playground. Assist them in mulching trees, picking up litter and weeding tree beds as they clear the neighborhood free of pollution and filth. The Park Slope Civic Council urges you to bring unwanted clothing and textiles for recycling. Bring home free daffodil bulbs and enjoy blue grass by Vincent Cross & Good Company! Clean-up ends at 2 p.m. For more information on the “Fall Civic Sweep” and getting involved, e-mail sustainable@parkslopeciviccouncil.org or visit the Park Slope Civic Council website: http://parkslopeciviccouncil.org/civic-sweep/
