Muffin’s Pet Connection: January 24, 2013

LOST DOG:  HELP, PLEASE!

“FIONA, my beautiful four-year-old, 40-pound Pit Bull mix went missing.  She is brown with white bib and booties. Her tail is shortened. She is spayed and her shots are up-to-date. She is very shy but also very affectionate. She was last seen in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn on Madison Street and Patchen Avenue on Sunday, January 6.

“She was wearing a black and purple nylon collar, which has my phone number and address on it. My heart is broken. I have put up signs and checked in with Animal Care & Control, but I’m also widening my search on the off-chance that she made it elsewhere. Thank you.”

DEAR READERS:  I have completed a fascinating part of my journey. I wrote a book called “A Staar Shines in Brooklyn.” It is a true story about a young girl, who, in 1953, claimed her celestial star and has followed its energies throughout her life.

Many animals — cats, dogs, turtles, birds, a lizard, hamsters, guinea pigs, a rabbit, fish and snails – have found their way into her life. Sinbad the lion was adopted by her. She bottle-fed her first puppy when she was six years old, and did her first cat rescue/adoption at age nine.

The book chronicles a unique connection between God’s mystical world and the unwavering faith of a child. This soft-covered, 240-page book fills the heart with insight, truth, humor and faith. It is written in large print for easy reading. For more information, please email judespets@aol.com  Thank you and God Bless!

THE ASSOCIATE PRESS REPORTS:  Two voluntary recalls, due to possible contamination with traces of poultry antibiotic residue, not USA-approved. Two manufacturers of treats for pets are pulling products; Nestle Purina PetCare is taking Waggin’ Train and Canyon Creek Ranch brand dog treats off the market, and Milo’s Kitchen is recalling Chicken Jerky and Chicken Grillers home-style dog treats.

The chicken jerky products, which are made in China, may contain minute amounts of antibiotic residue, the companies said. The antibiotics have been approved by Chinese and European Union regulators.
