Stars win in DHAA rookie soccer shoot-out
In a January 5 Dyker Heights Athletic Association soccer competition, the Stars bested the Stingrays 6-4.
The Stars started off the game strong, with a goal by Chris Tennyson and back-to-back goals by Paul Fasciano, for a 3-0 Stars lead. Pauls goals were scored within one minute of each other.
The Stingrays retaliated with three consecutive goals by Vito DeMonte, tying the game, 3-3. With under two minutes left in the first half, Fasciano scored two more goals, giving himself a total of four goals for the game and a 5-3 Stars lead at the end of the first half.
In the second half, Chris Tennyson scored his second goal of the game and extended the Stars lead to 6-3. DeMonte scored his fourth goal of the game for the Stingrays, ending the game with a 6-4 Stars victory.
