The weather is feeling a bit hot and cold, so here are a few safe and fun bets for classes and events going on today:

Movie Screening

Who says the library’s got to be quiet? Catch a screening of the action-packed “Original Gangster: The Public Enemy” at 6:30 p.m. at the Brooklyn Public library Central Library, located at 10 Grand Army Plaza. The movie is being hosted and curated by Glenn Kenny, chief movie critic for MSN movies.

Plant-O-Rama

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, located at 990 Washington Avenue, is hosting the 17th Annual Plant-O-Rama, which will feature a horticultural trade show and lectures by leaders in the professional gardening field. The theme is Native Plants in Modern Gardens and Landscapes.

Nicole Henry

Jazz vocalist Nicole Henry will be performing by everyone from Bob Marley to James Taylor at the Dizzy Club Coca Cola, located in the Lincoln Center. The cover fee is $35 per person, $15 with a valid student ID. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

78 Precinct Community Council Meeting

The 78 Precinct’s Community Council Meeting is taking place at 7:30 p.m. at 65 Sixth Avenue. Join to discuss important issues affecting the local community.
