76 Precinct Blotter – February 12-19, 2013

From Tuesday, February 12 to Tuesday, February 19, police from the 76th Precinct in Carroll Gardens and Red Hook received reports of four assaults, petit larceny, two grand larcenies, and other incidents.

Petit Larceny

On Monday, February 18, a 35-year-old woman stole 12 Dove soaps worth $138 from a store on the 400 block of Henry Street, said police, who arrested her just before 4:30 p.m. after the store manager called the cops. She was charged with possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

Assault and Robberies

A 41-year-old woman was charged with assault for allegedly grabbing the glass bottle that her partner was allegedly attempting to hit her with – and then hitting him with it instead.

According to the police report, the two were arguing with one another inside their apartment on Bush Street at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, February 18. The two then began hitting one another, at which point the 33-year-old man then allegedly hit her with a closed fist and picked up the glass bottle. However, when police arrived on the scene, he was the one with a bloody cut to the left side of his head, while she had no visible injuries.

Police arrested a 20-year-old black woman for allegedly punching and shoving a 26-year-old woman to the ground at Henry and Sackett Streets while trying to steal her iPhone. The assault and attempted robbery occurred at 9:05 p.m. on Friday, February 15, and the arrest took place two days later. The victim sustained bruises to her face, elbow, and knee.

Another arrest was made for an attempted robbery that took place outside an apartment building at the northeast corner of Sackett and Hoyt Streets on Saturday, February 16, at 4:15 p.m, said police. The suspects — a 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man — attempted to steal iPhone by pushing, shoving, and threatening to use a gun.

Police are searching for a black male with a Ceasar haircut who allegedly punched a 44-year-old man as he was walking along a pathway in front of 11 Lorraine Street on Tuesday, February 12 at 1:27 p.m. The victim sustained swelling on his left jaw.

Grand Larceny

Nearly $14,000 worth of stolen and damaged property were taken from a 1997 white Jeep bus parked parked near 1 Beard Street between Sunday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 13. The suspect(s) damaged the dashboard and other parts of the bus, and stole the radio, DVD player, TV, mirrors, light reader, bus plate, electrical panel, VCR and more. The bus was owned by Alexandra Bus Travel Corporation.
