Morning Report: Friday, April 19, 2013

It’s a relative humid, yet cloudy and windy day today. According to Weather.com, “a stray shower or thunderstorm is possible” and temperatures in Brooklyn will reach a high of 68 degrees Fahrenheit but mostly be in the low to mid-60s throughout the day, at least until the evening, when the expected rain will bring temps down to around 58 degrees and winds to 19 mph moving southwest.

Winds throughout the day are  “gusty,” moving south at 20 to 30 mph.

The sun will set at 7:40 p.m. and the moon begins its waxing gibbous phase.

  • Boston police and the FBI killed one bombing suspect and are in pursuit of the other. The suspects are believed to be brothers. Boston is shut down and all transportation in and out of Boston have been suspended.   • Rent rates are picking up for apartments and condos in Brooklyn that once had trouble attracting buyers. [NYPost]
  •  The roofless, fort-like Tobacco Warehouse that currently houses the DUMBO incarnation of Smorgasburg will be transformed into a 26,600-square-foot “flexible performance space,” artist space, and open space, according to design renderings presented by Michael Van Valkenberg Associates. [Curbed]
