It’s all about the ladies

It was a fine evening at the Dyker Beach Golf Course, where hundreds of women from around Brooklyn came together on May 2 to enjoy all that the night had to offer at the annual “Girls Night Out,” organized by Jovi Entertainment.

From cocktails, and health and beauty products, to clothing and jewelry—they had it all under one roof for four hours—allowing the ladies to get away from husbands, boyfriends, kids and pets; $30 got them an open bar, a fashion show from Da Noi on Fifth Salon and Spa and Lush New York, and the opportunity to shop at numerous vendors to treat themselves to various goodies.

“A lot of women want to spend a night out with their girlfriend. [It’s for] any age, and there are girls coming with their mothers and friends who haven’t seen each other for a while,” said Jovi.

Fifty percent of the proceeds from the raffles were donated to a non-profit organization called “Beating Cancer in Heels,” founded by Marlena Ortiz, a cancer survivor, who participated in the event.

Jovi also explained that the evening provides an opportunity in the community for businesses to promote their goods and services. BA Academy was amongst the ones present, as well as Sal from Sea Gate Beach Club, and James Pizzimenti, who exhibited art work from his upcoming gallery show in Park Slope.
