Muffin’s Pet Connection: May 28, 2013

BY JUDE LASSOW

RUFF RUFF:  Colleen is a 10-year-old, 77.9 lbs, Chow Chow mix. Her owner surrendered her because she was getting territorial around her former owner’s nine-month-old baby. She is really a friendly dog and loves to be petted.

However, she does not like to be dried with a towel. She is a pretty senior who needs a new home to feel comfortable in, while she is chilling out. An adult home would suit her best.

Won’t you please open your heart and home to Colleen?  She needs a new friend…she needs YOU! Please contact  info@barcshelter.org.

MEEOW MEEOW:  Check out MRS. Q  This six-month-old is a semi-feral kitten with extraordinary splattered black and white facial markings and tons of energy. While she is still afraid of humans, Mrs. Q loves to play with people when they are attached to string toys and she allows gentle touching.

We have seen cats like this come around, but it may take some time to earn her trust. She could be a good choice for a patient person who has another cat who needs a playmate.  Please contact  info@barcshelter.org.

BROOKLYN ANIMAL RESCUE COLILATION aka BARC’s mission is to provide a safe haven for abandoned animals and to find permanent loving homes for them. While in its care, the animals are provided with quality food, shelter, medical attention and the love they deserve.

In 1987, BARC a 501c3 not-for-profit, opened its no-kill, privately-run animal shelter located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Mention that you read about Colleen or Mrs. Q in The Home Reporter or Spectator newspapers.

HEY JUDE: “I am an Hasidic Orthodox Jew, and very nervous about a cat that walked onto my driveway. It made itself at home under the wheel of my car; it won’t leave.

“I put Gefilte fish near the front tire- it disappears. The cat cries every night. I cannot take it in; my religion forbids it. But it rubs on my legs. What can I do? Please help me.” — Alone in Boro Park.
