Slope Park Playground is officially open for the summer.
Schoolkids from P.S. 10 and Young Ideas Group Family Day Care gathered with area families to celebrate the reopening of the community green space on Sixth Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 27.
The festive celebration also included supporters from the neighborhood and political world: Brooklyn Parks Commissioner Kevin Jeffrey, Community Board 7 board members Cesar Zuniga and Joan Botti, Councilmember Sara González, and Friends of Slope Park member Angel Aguero.
The new park received over $2 million in renovations and upgrades.
