Fashionistas unite! A four-week fashion design class entitled “Intro To Handbag Making” is being offered to the public, which begins tonight at 7 p.m. Learn the basic techniques needed to create three different styles of handbags. By the end of this intensive four-week course, each student will have completed a market bag, tote and clutch. Skills to be covered include working with patterns, selecting materials, sewing, creating pockets and various finishing techniques. Students will also become familiar with terminology, tools and machinery commonly used in the creation of handbags. Students will be responsible for supplying their own fabric for the outside of the bags, as well as the lining. Please bring to the first class several yards of the fabric of your choice, thread and 4 yards iron-on fusible interfacing. All other supplies will be furnished by 3rd Ward.
