Beauty Talk: Summer skin rejuvenation

BY OLYMPIA COLANDREA

I just returned back from vacationing in Italy and after enjoying the Mediterranean Sea and the hot summer days on a beautiful beach, a few hours of my first day home were devoted to getting myself together before returning to work and taking care of the needs of my friends/ clients.

I began by getting my body and face smooth with a body scrub given by a massage therapist at my salon. My favorite is the body nourishing scrub which revives skin radiance and smoothness while polishing away the dryness and flakiness that occur when you’re exposed to a strong sun.

Another treatment is a sea salt mineral scrub which stimulates circulation, lifts away dead skin and boosts absorption of treatments products. I noticed that all the moisturizer I use is not being absorbed by my skin so this treatment will help alleviate that problem.

The next step requires moving onward to the next room to get a micro-dermabrasion facial which consists of a hydration mask, face and neck massage, and then finishes with a skin resurfacing.

At my salon, I only recommend and use a DiamondTone microdermabrasion system which is a crystal-free, exfoliating technique that gently vacuums away dead cells in a controlled manner.

It reduces the effect of aging on your skin and it gives your face a healthier and firmer appearance. This treatment can be also used on the face, neck, chest, hands, back, legs, elbows and feet. It is also designed for acne and decreases skin blotchiness and hyper-pigmentation.

Let’s face it, young fresh looking skin is what we aim to achieve every day, and with the help and advice of your well-trained aesthetician, you can definitely accomplish that. So now I’m ready to go back to work feeling relaxed, fresh and smooth all over.

Until next week, look your best….feel your best… But most of all love yourself.
