Brooklyn DA’s office indicts man who pistol-whipped woman in Carroll Gardens

Willie Weathers, 43, was arrested for allegedly grabbing, pistol-whipping, and attempting to drag a 28-year-old woman into his waiting car near the intersection of Court Street and Second Place on July 29. Now he has been indicted by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office. He faces charges of attempted kidnapping (2nd degree), robbery (1st degree), and criminal possession of a weapon (2nd degree).

Weathers  faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

According to the indictment, Weathers called out to the woman, then “allegedly pointed a gun at her and then pistol-whipped her several times while holding her by the neck” before allegedly dragging her to the car.

Fortunately, the woman managed to escape, running into a local bar to call police. She was able to identify Weathers via photos on his abandoned cell phone, which was used by cops from the 76th Precinct to get his cell phone records, address and car description.

Weathers was arrested later that day outside his Red Hook home.
