Drivers beware: move your cars for street repaving next week

The Department of Transportation will continue their repaving of highly-trafficked streets, moving onto several stretches of Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Greene and DUMBO next week.

The paving schedule will only occur at night, but drivers beware: cars left on the streets from August 5 to 7 will be “relocated [to] generally, within three blocks” of your original parking space.

“DOT encourages owners of relocated vehicles to first walk around the neighborhood. If owners are not able to locate their vehicle, they may telephone (718) 222-7285 to learn where it was towed to.”

The full paving schedule is as follows:

Monday, August 5

  • Jay Street, from the former end of Myrtle Avenue (Metrotech) to Tillary Street
  • Jay Street, from Tillary Street to John Street

Tuesday, August 6

  • Jay Street, from Tillary Street to John Street
  • Fulton Street, from Flatbush Avenue to Hanson Place

Wednesday, August 7

  • Fulton Street, from Flatbush Avenue to Hanson Place
