Morning Report: Monday, August 12

It’s rain on-and-off all today, with early morning showers making way for a cloudy, overcast afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Temperatures are in the mid-70s and will reach a high of 83 degrees. Winds are moving east-southeast at 5 to 10 mph.

  • A federal judge ruled that NYC’s stop-and-frisk tactics are unconstitutional, violating the 4th and 14th Amendments. [NYTimes]
  • The Federal Communications Commission voted 2 to 1 to reduce the rates inmates and their families pay for interstate calls from prison. The new rates will take effect in 120 days. [CNN]
