Man falls on tracks, hit by G train at Bergen Street station

A middle-aged man fell on the train tracks and was hit by a southbound G train at the Bergen Street station in Carroll Gardens Tuesday afternoon, said MTA and FDNY officials.

The man, whose name and age have not been released, was alive when emergency services arrived and rushed him to Lutheran Medical Center shortly after 1:45 p.m. on September 17, said a fire spokesperson.

“F and G service was suspended through the area for 30 minutes in both directions” before resuming regular service, confirmed an MTA spokeswoman.

It is unknown what caused the man to fall on the tracks in the first place or whether he was conscious when he was hit.
