‘Tis the season to light up the night with holiday lights!

One of the first lighting ceremonies of the season took place shortly after sundown on Thursday, November 21, in Albee Square at Fulton and Bond Streets, where Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and various elected officials and business leaders lit the 30-foot-tall holiday tree and menorah.

The large crowd of children and families were also treated to sweets from Junior’s as singers from Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers and dancers from Dancewave regaled everyone with festive feelings and energy.

The next month will see dozens of holiday trees and lights going up in front of churches and along commercial strips throughout Brooklyn.
