An elderly Asian woman died when a fire broke out in or near the basement apartment that she rented at 909 57th Street in Sunset Park on Monday, December 2, police and fire officials said.
Ho Yukkuen, 82, was found dead in a bedroom within the basement. Her death and the cause of the fire are being investigated. Sixty firefighters responded to the all-hands-on-deck blaze at 1:34 p.m. and got it under control by 2:09 p.m.Leave a Reply
