Kids of all ages bundled up and showed up at Brooklyn’s own Prospect Park on Saturday, January 4 to enjoy a snow day. Summer wasn’t missed at all for a couple of hours as kids and parents made the best of the winter weather.
To sweeten the deal, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation hosted a free event near the Tennis House at Ninth Street at which snowball fights, sledding, a snowman building contest, and several other snow-filled activities kept the youth busy.
The snow day lasted from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. At the end of the event, Brooklynites were treated to free hot chocolate, warming them up after four hours of fun in the cold.
