Unsung Bay Ridge: Supporting sports and more

Our person of the week is Michael Gallagher

He has also assisted the Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade as an active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Michael was very popular as a bartender at the landmark Leif Restaurant and Pub. His recent purchase of the pub will enable him to re-open by July 15.

He plans on having the same menu and party room where we have held so many fundraising activities. We look forward to continuing our support of Mike as he does for our community.

Congratulations to proud grandparents, Anne and Tom EdwardsViolet. Their daughter Kathy and her husband Richard are the proud parents of their first child. We wish baby Violet a long and happy life.

A special reminder to support Bay Ridge’s new substance abuse center, by attending the first fundraiser on June 26, at the Greenhouse Café, from 6 to 9 p.m. This center caters to much more than substance abuse, and attendance at this event will help to bring a much maintain a much needed resource in our community.
