A new, smooth 86th Street is in the offing.
City Councilmember Vincent Gentile has announced that, beginning next week, the strip will be repaved.The first phase will focus on the stretch between Gatling Place and Seventh Avenue, with milling work, which will be done at night to minimize disruptions to traffic, said Gentile, who adds, Although the Department of Transportation takes steps to minimize the inconvenience, milling requires trucks, special machinery and portable lights. To minimize disruption, machinery is also fitted with noise reduction equipment.Leave a Reply
