Four-car collision leaves one injured, one on the run

A four-car collision at 16th Avenue and 65th Street left one person in the hospital with a non-life-threatening leg injury and one driver on the run after leaving the scene, according to police officials.

The incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 16 when witnesses say a Dodge pickup truck collided with a Lexus, which then hit a van. The pickup truck also reportedly crashed into a parked car, after which a witness described seeing the driver and three passengers flee on foot.

Police, firefighters and emergency services personnel responded and had to cut the driver of the Lexus out of his car. Passengers from the third car to have been hit were also treated for minor injuries.

There is no available description of the hit-and-run driver, but police officials said that since “the collision did not involve serious injury or people dying,” further investigation was “not called.”
