Bay Ridge welcomes its newest salon, Salvo Capelli

There’s a new kid on the block. On Thursday, September 18, Bay Ridge welcomed one of its newest salons, Salvo Capelli, during a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis was on hand to celebrate the neighborhood’s new business with owner Salvatore Di Dino and salon employees.

“We’re very happy to have Salvo Capelli come to Bay Ridge. Part of my job as a state legislator is to create an environment where businesses want to open in New York,” said Malliotakis. “We’re excited that he’s decided to choose Bay Ridge to open his hair salon. This is great news for the community.”

“I’m very excited,” said Di Dino, who is also a Bay Ridge resident. “I’ve been working in the neighborhood for the last 15 years and it’s an honor to be a part of it and have my own business here.”

Salvo Capelli, 699 86th Street, plans to offer top quality service at prices comparable to its competitors. Monthly promotions will be featured. In addition, new clients also receive 15 percent off.

“Cutting is very something we specialize in more than anything,” Di Dino said. “We believe that a good haircut is something that lowers maintenance for clients at home because I do think when a haircut is well done, it takes less time for people to fix their hair and do it themselves.” Massages and shampoo are among the other services offered.

“The location is great, to be able to serve people near Dyker Heights and Bay Ridge at the same time. I’m looking forward to serving community the best I can,” Di Dino said. “We’re trying to maintain a very relaxing experience ambiance.”
