The 41st Annual Third Avenue Festival will once again give Ridgeites the opportunity to take home a furry friend.
In cooperation with Pet Lovers Unite Together as One (P.L.U.T.O.), Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis will host an on-site adoption event on Sunday, September 28. The rescued companions will be available on the corner of 74th Street from 12 to 3 p.m. during the festival.
“With so many pets looking for loving homes, the Third Avenue Festival is a great chance for people to visit the P.L.U.T.O. adoption station and meet their new best friend,” said Malliotakis.
For several years now, Malliotakis has worked with the Staten Island rescue group to give desperate animals a second chance. However, it’s not all about the pets.
“These animals are in dire need of shelter and affection, but the reward truly goes to those who adopt these loyal companions,” said the assemblymember.
“P.L.U.T.O. does tremendous work for both animals and owners, and I hope that the festival’s visitors can find time to stop by and make a difference in the life of a locally-rescued animal,” she went on.
All animals are spayed or neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. View the animals up for adoption on P.L.U.T.O.’s website at www.plutorescue.petfinder.org.
