Police are on the lookout for two separate drivers involved in a double hit-and-run that sent one woman to the hospital in serious condition and killed her dog on Saturday, October 4.
Police say that 31-year-old Kristin Rendina was walking her dog just after 10 p.m. near West Second Street and Avenue Z in Gravesend when her pooch was struck by a vehicle that then took off. Cops say that when Rendina ran into the street to save her dying dog, a second vehicle – said to be a black Jeep Wrangler heading west on Avenue Z — hit her and also fled the scene.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition.
Neither driver has been apprehended and the investigation is ongoing.
