October 28 job fair to help veterans and military

n Tuesday, October 28, New York’s active duty service members, veterans and their family members will have the opportunity to meet with employers and develop their career-building skills for free.

The New York City College of Technology’s Business Development Center will host New York’s “most comprehensive employment and career day,” dubbed Operation Transition Freedom, at Fort Hamilton’s Armed Forces Reserve Center, 212 General Lee Avenue. Our heroes and their relatives will be able to take advantage of this service from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Operation Transition Freedom will give current and former military personnel and their families the chance to work with career transition professionals and training specialists to improve their networking skills and access services that are available only to those transitioning out of the military. Representatives will help service members find the right career after leaving the armed forces and all those who attend can also learn about beginning a small business.

Because of the demand for talented and dedicated workers, interested employers are encouraged to sign up and meet the accomplished and reliable veterans.
