Home Reporter gives back to Boy Scouts of America

The staff at The Home Reporter and Brooklyn Spectator was all smiles on Wednesday, November 12 when Justin Rodstrom, field director of the Brooklyn branch of the Boy Scouts of America, stopped by the office for a very special check presentation.

“This check will help us serve more than 500 kids with a scouting program who would otherwise be unable to afford the modest $24 registration fee per year,” said Rodstrom of the $1,250 check presented on behalf of the papers. The money was raised for the organization through a raffle at the 2014 King of Kings County Networking Event at which The Home Reporter honored 33 of Brooklyn’s most influential and active leaders in business, education and community service.

“For some families, $24 isn’t a lot of money,” he said, “but for some, it is.”
