According to police, a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of 25 Street and Fourth Avenue within the confines of the 72 Precinct on Sunday, May 10 at approximately 1:24 a.m.
Upon a preliminary investigation, cops determined that a 27-year-old male was driving a Nissan Sedan southbound on Fourth Avenue when another vehicle cut him off near the intersection of 25 Street. The male driver changed lanes to avoid being struck by the other vehicle. He then struck an unidentified elderly female who was crossing Fourth Avenue.
EMS responded and transported the female to Lutheran hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The male driver drove to the 72 Precinct to report the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
