Between Friday, October 2 and Monday, October 5, the 62nd Precinct received reports of one robbery, one burglary, one felony assault and one grand larceny. The 62nd Precinct serves Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Gravesend.
BROOMS AWAY
A 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old man got into a dispute about a parking incident near 20th Avenue and 62nd Street on Sunday, October 4 at around 1:45 p.m. that resulted in one chasing the other down the street with a broomstick and hitting him with it. According to police, the 47-year-old was accused of hitting the 48-year-old’s car while trying to park.
PHONE JACKED
On Monday, October 5, a 16-year-old Asian boy told police that while he was walking home from school along 63rd Street at around 4 p.m., two unknown suspects, around the age of 18, approached him, asked him if he had a phone and demanded that he give it to them.
According to cops, the duo pushed and punched the boy before fleeing the scene with his phone. They are described as Hispanic males and were last seen wearing a gray hoodie and a black hoodie.
HOME INVASION
A 23-year-old man told police that on Friday, October 2, an unknown perp entered his home near Van Siclen Street and Avenue T and stole $2,500, various items of jewelry and a pair of sneakers. According to cops, the perp entered through a back window and fled through the backdoor.
TOWED AWAY
On Sunday, October 4 at around 10:45 p.m. a man had electronics stolen from his tow truck while he was parked near Bay Parkway and 66th Street. According to cops, the perp fled in an unknown direction and there were no cameras at the scene.
