68th Precinct goes pink for breast cancer awareness

While precincts across the city have draped their digs in pink to promote breast cancer awareness during the month of October, in Bay Ridge, the 68th Precinct has adorned not only its patrol cars but also its home base with pink tape and paint.

The department-wide effort is being promoted through the hashtag #NYPDBlueGoesPink and will culminate at the end of the month with an award for “Pinkest Precinct.”

“The men and women of the 68th Precinct are honored to be able to participate in this program,” Captain Ray Festino, the precinct’s commanding officer, told this paper. “Every year, thousands of women succumb to breast cancer. Hopefully, with a little color, we can raise awareness. Please stop by and visit the pinkest precinct in America.”
