The Peewee Division of Parkville’s Full Tackle Football Program hit the gridiron on Saturday, October 10 and exploded in their first seasonal opener. The PYO Ravens were as ready as they could be to take on the powerful PYO Steelers.
Jaylis Cruz of the Steelers set the tempo in this melee by busting through the Raven line for a 25-yard charge. Nico Viscoso of the Ravens put an end to that dream by stopping him with a textbook tackle. Cruz shook it off and on the next play drew first blood. Joseph Rodriguez fought his way and scored the extra point.

The Ravens picked up the baton when they got possession but failed to produce any points on the scoreboard. After the Steelers scored their second TD, Gabe Richardson rallied his team and ran 40 yards to pay dirt with great blocking by Aiden Paredes, Dennis Urena, Ethan Veliz and Thomas Fegan.
The game continued in this seesaw fashion with each team entering into golden soil four times by game’s end. The final touchdown was made by Edgar Quintero, as cool as a ragtop 57’ matador red Chevy. He fought like a bulldog, shaking off three tacklers that were set on stopping him along the way.
When the game ended, both teams had scored four touchdowns each which made this a great football day. Some other players that were outstanding were Robert Navarro, Sadd Sandu, Urena, Fegan, Eliser Santiago, Lucas Giocoli and Paredes.
