Authorities have confirmed that a second body was recovered this afternoon from the scene of an explosion that tore through a three-story Borough Park building this past weekend.
It is still unclear whether or not it is the body of 48-year-old Francisca Figueroa, a mother of two who has been missing since the blast, which occurred at the corner of 42nd Street and 13th Avenue just past 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 3.
The blast caused a four-alarm blaze that took firefighters until Saturday night to subdue as well as a partial building collapse. It has left two dead and 13 injured, with 49 people forced out of their homes.
