68th Precinct Police Beat: Man robbed at gunpoint on corner of Ridge Boulevard and 72nd Street

Between Thursday, October 29 and Sunday, November 1, the 68th Precinct received reports of three robberies, and two burglaries. The 68th Precinct serves Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton.

BAG IT

Cops say that on Thursday, October 29 at approximately 5 p.m., a 29-year-old woman was walking near the corner of Sixth Avenue and Senator Street when a Hispanic male approached her, grabbed her bag and pushed her to the floor. The perp then fled on foot, stealing approximately $900 cash.

No arrests have been made.

PARTY POOPER

On Saturday, October 31, near 13th Avenue and 67th Street at approximately 6 p.m., a white man and his wife, a 33-year-old white woman, returned to their apartment from a Halloween party and discovered that an unknown perp had broken into their place and stolen an iPhone 6 and an HP laptop, both worth approximately $1,050.  There was no sign of forced entry.

CROWBAR CROOK

Cops say an unknown white male perp broke into a grocery near 95th Street and Third Avenue on Thursday, October 29 at approximately 4:04 a.m. The perp used a crowbar to break in the store’s front window. He then used the same crowbar to open the cash register, stealing $1,000. One of the employees, a 55-year-old white man, discovered the missing cash hours later.

No arrests have been made.

VIOLENT ATTACK

On Sunday, November 1 a 29-year-old white man and a 28-year-old white woman were walking near the corner of Colonial Road and 72nd Street at approximately 1:50 a.m. Police say an unknown black man came from behind and asked the man for a lighter. When he said no, the perp punched him in the face, knocked him to the ground and slammed his face on the sidewalk. Afterwards, the alleged perp stole the victim’s cellphone and wallet, worth approximately $544.

No arrests have been made.

GUNPOINT ROBBERY

On the northeast corner of Ridge Boulevard and 72nd Street, on Sunday, November 1 at approximately 2:30 a.m., a 33-year-old white man was walking to a store when two unknown male perps, one Hispanic, the other black, ran up to the victim. One of the perps pointed a handgun at him while the other perp stole items from his pockets including a cell phone and a debit card.

No arrests have been made.
