A fatal Bay Ridge fire left a 93-year-old woman dead early Tuesday morning, according to the FDNY.
Officials say units responded to a call of a blaze at 434 79th Street just past 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22. Upon arrival, firefighters removed the woman – who was in cardiac arrest – from the three-story residence.
Emergency medical services transported the victim to NYU Lutheran Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 2 a.m.
The fire was put out by responding units without any further injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal.
