Don’t miss your chance to see Cameron Diaz, an actress, author and body guru herself, at the BookMark Shoppe on Thursday, April 7.
With her first book – now a New York Times best-seller appropriately named The Body Book – covering all things happy, healthy and positive starting with how you treat your body, her second book, The Longevity Book: The Science of Aging, the Biology of Strength, and the Privilege of Time, will delve into the next phase of female life.
“I’m not going to tell you how to reverse the aging process in thirty days,” Diaz writes. “This book takes a step back to examine how the aging process works, why we age in the first place, and how it will affect us physically and emotionally.”
According to Diaz, the book is meant to serve as a comprehensive overview of the female body over time, ranging from those first gray hairs to the increased health risks women face for breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, depression and more as they reach into their 60s and beyond.
To ensure that attendees get the most out of the event, Diaz will pre-sign the books.
“We’re super excited,” said BookMarke Shoppe owner Christine Freglette. “She has decided to pre-sign the books so that she’s not signing them in front of the crowd. That way everyone gets a chance to pose and take a photo with her.”
Since there will be a limited number of pre-signed books available, Freglette is encouraging interested attendees to buy tickets in advance or pre-purchase the book at the shop.
The signing will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 at the shop located at 8415 Third Avenue. To purchase a ticket ($31 for a pre-signed copy and the chance to meet Diaz and take a photo with her) visit www.eventbrite.com/e/cameron-diaz-book-signing-of-the-longevity-book-tickets-21536440072. Books can also be pre-purchased at the shop before the event.
