Department of Transportation unveils updated bike map

The Department of Transportation on Monday, March 28 released the 2016 New York City Bike Map – one that showcases new lanes in all five boroughs, adding to over 1,000 miles of the city’s bike network.

The 2016 map includes nearly 70 lane miles of new or upgraded bike infrastructure, including over 12 miles of new on-street protected bike lanes, over seven miles of new off-street bike lanes and 58 miles of on-street development (including lane upgrades and new bike facilities).

In addition this year, the city is on track to build 15 more miles of protected bike lanes – the most ever in a single calendar year.
