62nd Precinct Police Beat: Man attacked with pool stick and robbed

Between Friday, April 29 and Sunday, May 1, the 62nd Precinct received reports of two grand larcenies and two robberies. The 62nd Precinct serves Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Gravesend.

IN THE POCKET

According to police, while walking to his car from his house on Sunday, May 1 at around 1:30 p.m., a 51-year-old man was assaulted and robbed, and struck several times with a pool stick by the unknown perp, described as a white man. The man told cops that the perp, who approached him near 18th Avenue and 70th Street, also punched him in the head and the back, and pushed him to the floor. The man removed $2,450 from the man’s pocket before fleeing the scene. The 51-year-old was taken to Methodist Hospital with minor injuries.

UNLOCKED

A 43-year-old woman told police that while her car was parked overnight on Friday, April 29, in a driveway near Cropsey Avenue and Bay 31st Street, an unknown perp ransacked it and stole a credit card and medical equipment. According to cops, there was no damage to the vehicle; however, the property that was taken was worth approximately $15,600. The woman also told police that she forgot to lock the car.

FORGED FILCH

An unidentified perp used a forged ATM Card to remove $700 for a TD Bank machine on Saturday, April 30 at around 7:08 a.m. According to police, the account belonged to a 55-year-old woman; the TD Bank branch is located on the corner of 86th Street and Bay Parkway.

AMBUSHED

A 38-year-old man was walking home from an Avenue U bar on Sunday, May 1 at around 10:53 p.m., when he was approached by two perps – described as two 25-year-old Hispanic men – who assaulted and robbed him. The man told police that the pair ambushed him from behind, punched him multiple times and stole about $500 from his pockets before fleeing.
