62nd Precinct Police Beat: Woman attacked and robbed on New Utrecht Avenue

Between Wednesday, June 8 and Monday, June 13, the 62nd Precinct received reports of two robberies and two grand larcenies. The 62nd Precinct serves Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Gravesend.

LATE NIGHT CREEPS

While walking near 63rd Street and New Utrecht Avenue, a 25-year-old woman was approached by two strangers – both men – on Wednesday, June 8 at around 3:40 a.m. While one of the perps asked her for food and money, the other man pulled her down from behind and pushed her to the ground before stealing electronics from her and fleeing the scene.

MAIL JACKERS

On Friday, June 10 at around 4:29 p.m., the superintendent of a Stillwell Avenue building saw two perps breaking mailbox locks and taking mail out. According to police, one of the perps – described as a white man wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers – damaged the mailboxes and removed mail while the other perp, described as a white man wearing a black cap, white t-shirt and black shorts, stood in the hallway and acted as a lookout.

HOT & COLD

While in the process of a evicting a tenant he was renting to near Bay Parkway and 63rd Street, a landlord noticed air conditioners, a stove and a fridge taken from the unit on Monday, June 13 at around 10:30 a.m. The landlord suspects the perp who took the appliances was working for the tenant.

SMASHED

A 28-year-old man told police that on Thursday, June 9 at around 2:30 a.m., after parking his car near Shore Parkway and 24th Avenue, an unknown perp removed all four rims and tires from the car along with $1,000 in cash and a pack of cigarettes. One of the car’s windows was smashed, according to cops.
