62nd Precinct Police Beat: Man hits girlfriend with shopping cart

The 62nd Precinct serves Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Gravesend.

WINDOW THIEF

A 35-year-old woman told police that on Wednesday, July 13 at around 8:15 a.m., an unknown perp broke into her 17th Avenue home through a window and stole various electronics and jewelry before fleeing through the front door. Cops say the lobby and front entrance of her building are equipped with cameras.

RUNNING WITH SCISSORS

A 56-year-old man came home to a scissor-wielding intruder on Friday, July 15 at around 11:30 a.m. According to police, the perp managed to break into the 56-year-old’s Avenue T apartment while he was out and attacked him with scissors when he returned. The 56-year-old suffered a minor injury to this left foot and the perp fled in an unknown direction.

SPILL ON AISLE 26

While walking home near Cropsey and 26th Avenues on Friday, July 15 at around 11 p.m., a 53-year-old woman told police that her boyfriend, 44, began to argue with her and hit her with a shopping cart. The woman told cops that the 44-year-old was intoxicated at the time and also punched her in the head. The 53-year-old suffered injuries to her head and right foot. She received medical attention at the scene.

BLADES OF GLORY

An unidentified Hispanic man stole almost $2,000 worth of Gillette razor blades from a Kings Highway chain drugstore on Sunday, July 10 according to cops. Video surveillance shows the man removing the blades, worth $1,954 in total, from the store and fleeing.
