FDNY looks to promote fire education through community events

Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro announced last week that the FDNY will host several block party-style community events at firehouses across the five boroughs, including Engine Company 231/Ladder Company 120 in Brooklyn.

At the event, FDNY members will educate attendees on fire safety by holding demonstrations and conducting tours of FDNY apparatus. In addition, attendees may learn about careers within the FDNY, take part in CPR classes, register for free smoke and carbon monoxide alarm installation in their home and meet the FDNY Fire and Life Safety mascots.

Engine Company 231/Ladder Company 120’s event will take place on Saturday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 107 Watkins Street in Brownsville.
