62nd Precinct Police Beat: Man hits wife with curtain rod

According to police, three unknown male perps broke into a 20th Avenue supermarket on Friday, August 12 at around 10:49 p.m. and stole the cash register containing $600. Cops allege that the trio broke in through the front of the building and are reviewing video footage of the incident.

NIMROD

A 44-year-old black man hit his wife, 33, with a curtain rod on Sunday, August 14 inside their 18th Avenue home at around 9:19 a.m. According to police, the husband first broke down the couple’s bedroom door before hitting the woman across the forehead with the rod. The 33-year-old suffered swelling and bruising to her head and right arm.

BAG BANDIT

A 21-year-old black woman told police that on Sunday, August 14 as she was on a bus nearing Bay Parkway and Benson Avenue, an unknown perp sat next to her, grabbed her bag and made a run for it once the bus stopped. The purse contained $40, her driver’s license and credit/debit cards.

HEATED ARGUMENT

On Friday, August 12, a 25-year-old woman reported to police that a few weeks earlier at around 5 a.m., her boyfriend, 26, hit her with a beer bottle after an argument the pair had near Stillwell Avenue and 86th Street. According to the 25-year-old, her boyfriend began to argue with her over where she was going to spend the night and proceeded to strike her with the bottle while grabbing her by the neck. The woman also told cops that the 26-year-old scratched her right thigh with a hair clip.
