Cops help deliver healthy baby girl outside of 62nd Precinct

It’s a girl!

A healthy baby was born in Bensonhurst thanks to two brave officers from the 62nd Precinct.

According to the NYPD, Police Officers Mike Lunetta and Mathew Brady rushed to the side of a woman in labor on Sunday, August 7 after her aunt hurried into the precinct (1925 Bath Avenue) calling for help.

The woman’s niece was in labor in their car, according to police, and the officers were quick to react. Lunetta encouraged the soon-to-be-mom to push as he saw the baby’s head and helped her deliver a perfectly healthy baby girl named Noor. Brady was there to take the newborn from Lunetta and care for her until EMS workers arrived to take mom and baby to a local hospital, where they are both reportedly doing great.

“I have never had an experience with [anything like] that before,” Brady told this paper. “Officer Lunetta really stepped up. He was a great asset to the situation and was helping instruct the woman to push and breathe. Things happened very quickly and we’re just happy everything went well.”
