A Gravesend man was pronounced dead over the weekend after cops responded to the scene of a shooting at Stillwell Avenue and Avenue V.
Daquan Spencer, 30, was found unconscious and unresponsive at Scarangella Park with gunshot wounds to the head and torso on Sunday, August 21 at around 1:32 a.m.
EMS responded and took Spencer, a West Eighth Street resident, to Coney Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
According to a witness, Spencer was at his three-year-old son’s birthday party in the park that day, the same day that a memorial promoting non-violence was being held in the park in memory of six individuals recently shot and killed throughout Brooklyn and the tri-state area.
