Over 40 businesses were looking to fill over 500 positions last week as a massive job fair hit Kings Plaza Shopping Center on Thursday, September 16.
Aimed at providing eligible job seekers with the opportunity to be pre-screened for interviews with retailers locally and city-wide, the fair, put on in partnership with elected officials like Public Advocate Tish James, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, Congressmember Hakeem Jeffries and State Senator Roxanne Persaud, turned the upper level of the shopping center at Avenue U and Flatbush Avenue into a hiring extravaganza.
“The job fair was a success! Kings Plaza was thrilled to have partnered with our local elected officials on this program,” said Kings Plaza’s Area Senior Marketing Manager Dawn Simon. “We had a great turnout and our retailers are currently in the process of call backs. One retailer stated they found 62 candidates for the next step in the interview process.”
Participating companies included the likes of Macy’s, Michael Kors, A|X Armani Exchange, Old Navy, Pandora, Express and New York & Company, to name a few.
