Cops search for thief who robbed 66-year-old woman in Bay Ridge

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman wanted for questioning in connection to a Bay Ridge robbery that occurred on Friday, September 9.

According to police, at around 5:20 p.m. near 86th Street and Fifth Avenue, an unidentified woman – described by police as Hispanic, approximately 20 to 25 years old, weighing 115-130 pounds – approached a 66-year-old woman, assaulted her and stole $150. The thief fled southbound on Fifth Avenue and was last seen wearing a black tank top and blue jeans.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
