It’s not over till the savvy shopper sings.
While our readers and Bensonhurst shoppers alike were sad to learn of 18th Avenue’s Annie Sez and Mandee stores closing for good at the end of this month, a representative for the stores has told the Brooklyn Reporter that both shops will re-open at new Bensonhurst locations early this year.
A spokesperson with A & M (2015) LLC, the owners of the Mandee and Annie Sez brands, said that “other Bensonhurst locations will be the home of the new Mandee and Annie Sez stores, and we anticipate opening in the first quarter of 2017.”
The unique double-storefront space, home to Annie Sez and Mandee for over 10 years at 6401 18th Avenue, announced its closing via signage posted both outside and inside the stores last month, citing that the lease was ending and that “everything must go.” There is no word yet on who will occupy the 24,033-square-foot lot.
As for Brooklyn’s frequent Annie Sez and Mandee shoppers, the borough is equipped with other locations.
“In the interim,” the spokesperson said, “our Kings Highway location is nearby for Annie Sez customers and we have Mandee locations on Fifth Avenue and Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn. Our Mandee customers may also shop for merchandise on line at Mandee.com.”
