Dyker health facility administrator honored for leadership

The administrator of an assisted living facility in Dyker Heights was recently honored for his leadership of the facility with an award from the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA).

Earnest Ragin, who serves as the administrator of the Norwegian Christian Home and Health Center (67th Street between 12th Avenue and 13th Avenue), was presented with the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award at the ACHCA’s 51st Annual Convocation and Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri in early April. The award recognizes excellence in health care facilities, as well as leadership excellence exhibited in 2016.

Award recipients were selected based on three years of skilled nursing facility survey data, as well as top quarterly performance on designated quality measures. Fewer than nine percent of facilities nationwide qualify for the award; 206 administrators were honored in total.

The ACHCA is devoted to supporting long-term care facilities and their administrators, providing professional education and certification to administrators throughout all forms of long-term care. Visit www.achca.org for more information.
