Auditions to be held this month for a spot on the Brooklyn Nets’ dance team

Do you have what it takes to be a Brooklynette?

The Brooklyn Nets will hold open auditions for their famed dance team, the Brooklynettes, on Saturday, June 10.

The Brooklynettes, presented by Crunch Fitness, will perform at all Brooklyn Nets games at the Barclays Center during the 2017-18 season and will represent the team at events throughout the New York metropolitan area and internationally.

Special guest judges will be in attendance for auditions, including BLOC Talent Agency rep Fatima Wilson and celebrity choreographer Tanisha Scott. Wilson has worked with such artists as Beyoncé and Rihanna, and her work has been featured on “Saturday Night Live,” “Girls,” and more. Scott, a three-time MTA Video Music Award-nominated choreographer, has also worked with Beyoncé and Rihanna, as well as JAY Z, Alicia Keys and Sean Paul.

The tryouts will take place at 10:30 a.m. at LIU Brooklyn Paramount Theatre on the LIU Brooklyn campus at One University Plaza.

Those interested in auditioning must be 18 years or older and have extensive dance training in both hip hop and jazz. Tumbling skills are a plus, but are not required and dancers must come wearing two-piece attire and non-marking sneakers. Dancers are also encouraged to arrive in “glamorous, performance-ready hair and makeup.”

Registration begins at 10 a.m. sharp.

Select dancers will be invited to attend a callback audition in the same place on June 11. Furthermore, finalists must be available for the evenings of June 12 and 13.
