Play For P.I.N.K Golfs for Breast Cancer at Dyker Beach Golf Course

The 6th Annual Play for Pink Golf Tournament teed off Saturday, July 14, at the Dyker Beach Golf Course, located at 1030 86th St.

Play for P.I.N.K. partnered with the Brookridge Women’s Golf Club (BWGC) to host the annual charity event in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

“We do this every year for breast cancer. We close the course on a Saturday. This year, Dyker did something very special — they decided to try to raise funds as well and they raised thousands of dollars for us,” said organizer Katherine Condon.

This year, the event was attended by 144 golfers of all levels—from expert to amateur — with men hitting the links as well as women.

“It was a fun day of golf, including food, drinks and prizes, all for the purpose of raising money for a great cause,” said Condon about the event. “The preliminary results show that over $25,000 was raised for Breast Cancer Research Foundation through Play for P.I.N.K.”

Dyker Beach Golf Course has been the proud home of the BWGC since 1955. The BWGC co-sponsored the fundraiser along with American Golf Corporation (AGC). AGC Assistant General Manager Rocco Miano and General Manager Jim Gibson raised money in June at Dyker Beach for the event and presented BWGC with a check for over $6,300.
