Industry City to host “How to Buy a Wedding Dress”

Here comes…Industry City, which will host a panel discussion for brides on “How to Buy a Wedding Dress,” on Mon., Feb. 18.

The event is presented by the Wedding Dresser, a collection of Brooklyn based fashion and costume pros that alter dresses and build accessories to support their own design work.

The event is described as an intimate forum and discussion where brides can bring their Pinterest boards, ask questions of the pros on the panel and share their experiences finding their dream wedding gown.

Guest panelists Stacie Houlker, fashion stylist and Frances Armand, bridal consultant, will touch on how to get the best service for the best price, how to avoid feeling overwhelmed when selecting a wedding gown, and what to consider when choosing your gown and photography, and share insights gained from years of experiences.

CEO of the Wedding Dresser Susan Ruddie Spring organized the forum to help take the stress out of wedding gown shopping.

“We will answer the when, where and how to find the perfect dress, covering all aspects from budgeting to bridal sizing, finding the right dress for your figure and venue, to accessorizing your look,” she said.

Spring has worked selling bridal gowns, and as a bridal salon manager, buyer and fitter at Kleinfeld, Gabriella New York and Romona Keveza at One Rock.  In 2017, she opened the studio Susan Spring – The Wedding Dresser at Industry City.

Houlker is a freelance fashion stylist whose work includes bridal styling, print advertising and fashion editorial. Armand has nine years in the fashion industry as a publicist and also assists brides on day-of coordination and styling.

The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. at 254 36th Street, Room C-253. To buy tickets, $35, visit https://bit.ly/2CzYazb.
