Men of Steal: Cops hunt for pair of burglars who’ve hit up Southern Brooklyn stores

The NYPD is searching for a pair of sneak thieves who’ve hit up seven different stores in southern Brooklyn, and stolen money, credit cards, cigarettes, lottery tickets, clothing and surveillance equipment throughout the month of December.

The dastardly duo’s exploits have ranged from Avenue I, at the north, all the way to Avenue U, and included two stops in Bensonhurst, on 20th Avenue and 61st Street, and 18th Avenue and 63rd Street, in the 62nd Precinct, both on Dec. 16.

Other locations the pair has hit include stores at Avenue U and 22nd Street and Avenue U and 27th Street, both in the 61st Precinct; and three locations in the 70th Precinct: Ocean Avenue between Avenues L and M, and Avenue I and 29th Street (the latter on two separate occasions).

Their modus operandi has been to commit the break-ins during the early morning hours, when the stores are closed, say cops.

Little is known about the suspects other than that they are men. They were last seen wearing dark-colored apparel.

Anyone with information in regard to these incidents is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, on Twitter @NYPDTips or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.

All calls are strictly confidential.
